Our Beginning:

MoContee.Com was created by my husband and I in 2020 right before the pandemic. At first we were only designing Afrocentric jewelry; then we started designing Afrocentric T-shirts & footwear, at the insistence of our amazing customers! To date, we have exceeded our greatest expectations and we are only just beginning! Today we can be found on Walmart, Ebay, Amazon.com, Etsy, Poshmark, Afrikrea.com & all social media! Welcome!​

Why Afrocentric Products?

 

We take pride in welcoming everyone who shares our excitement of all-things-Africa!  Our work is designed to inspire, uplift, & empower you throughout the course of your everyday-life with constant reminders of our rich African legacy. In today's society, Black people are heavily miseducated about our true value and our contributions to civilization...this while we are simultaneously racially profiled, systemically discriminated against, & routinely murdered without accountability or justice. It is hard to be self-assured when your discrimination is "legally sanctioned". It is with this systemic injustice in mind that we must ground ourselves in the knowing of who we are as a people, to begin to recover our greatness! ​​That’s the purpose of owning our Afrocentric products, often customized to your taste!

 

Our African ancestry is a thing of beauty that should engender courage and pride! ​​When wearing or using our Afrocentric products, one has immediate access to a beautiful reminder of our African identity & intrinsic value as human beings who are proudly African in the world! With extraordinarily little effort, one can be instantly reoriented to a place of strength, resilience & hope by simply looking at your Marcus Garvey sneakers, or Dr. King Hat for example!

On your first visit you are a guest; by your second visit you are family! We refer to our patrons as friends and family, seldom, if ever, "customers".

​Our MoContee.Com friends are mostly Black men & Black women between the ages of 16 & 60. However, we have a customer-base of all races, nationalities, and colors. With customers in just about every state in the U.S., multiple countries in Africa, Trinidad, Guyana, Jamaica, England, Australia, the Netherlands, China, India & beyond, our global reach continues to expand -- a testament to the staying power of our brand! Our MoContee.Com friends are brilliant, mostly college educated persons from various professions, information we gathered from our survey.

 

Our Purpose:

Our purpose is to be a spark of hope, inspiration & empowerment to a severely neglected class of people who are seen as unimportant, people of African ancestry.

Our vision is to inspire people of African ancestry to believe in our greatness as a people, and to eradicate self-hate and a sense of inferiority because of our race.

Our mission is to encourage, uplift, inspire, & eventually allocate portions of funds to assist people of African ancestry who are experiencing extreme poverty, based on availability.
